Disability Support Worker

THE ROLE

As a support worker, you’ll work closely with people with a disability to help them live the lives they choose in their own homes and local communities. You’ll get to know your clients well, understanding their needs, preferences, and aspirations, so you can support them to achieve what’s important to them.

To be successful, you will possess the following:

  • Experience working with people with a disability and high support needs.
  • Hold an Individual Support/ Aged Care/ Community Services/ Disability Certificate III or higher.
  • Previous skills in manual handling, medication administration, and meal-time support.
  • Willingness to engage closely with families, medical professionals, therapy staff
  • Understanding of incident reporting, quality documentation, complaints handling, and restrictive practices.
  • Own vehicle with comprehensive insurance and willingness to use for work purposes (if required).
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Driver Licence.
  • NDIS Workers Orientation
  • Current Disability Support Worker Screening
  • Working with Children Check
